When a new President and his family move into the White House?
Do they throw out the ancient bedding, towels, etc. Or is it like a hotel, and they wash and re-use them? What about the mattress’ and the kids furniture. How much redecorating can they do to personalize their space, especially the space for the kids?

I doubt they replace the matresses every time, but who knows?
I bet the White House web site talks about this somewhere — did you look there?
The White House usually gets some redecorating, color changes (inside, obviously) and probably some new furniture with each new administration.
But check the site; I’d be surprised if they don’t mention this there.
