How do you get smoke out of wood furniture?
I received really nice furniture from my step mom and she used to smoke and the furniture reaks! I can’t go it out of my room due to how heavy it is. I’m also A poor college kid so inexpensive is key. I’ve tried murphys oil and got a bunch of stuff off of it.

Cigarette smoke can penetrate virtual any material if exposed long enough. It’s not simple, but you may have to strip any varnish that’s on it. The problem is, you have to get at every nook and cranny to do it 100%. Once you strip it, you may have to sand it. After that, apply stain/varnish of your choice. If you’re not willing to do this, than it’s either not that valuable to you or you’ve learned to live with it. Oh – the smell from the varnish remover is quite potent. I highly recommend doing it outdoors on a dry cool day.
