baby chairs How old is a baby when they can hold their head up?
I was just wondering how many weeks / months a baby is when they should be able to hold their head up by themselves? My daughter is 7 & 1/2 weeks and she can hold her head up for about 30 seconds on her own when she is lying on her tummy. I can’t wait to be able to hold her sitting on my lap with her holding her own head up or have her sit in a high chair by herself. Any mommies remember when your babies were able to do this?

my baby was able to hold up head up while on my lap since she was 2 months
and she doesnt like tummy time very much
she holds her head up on tummy time for like 2 minutes
then gets fuzzy
she prefers to be sitting with support, hasnt gotten it on her own yet

but head is very steady since 2 months of age

mine lifted her head up when they place her on my chest in the hospital…. more tummy time makes their neck muscles stronger to hold theyre head up…

My baby has been able to do that since about 4-5 weeks ancient.
